EDUCATION AND TRAINING DEPARTMENT GMMFI
NATIONAL EDUCATION BOARD POLICY

Introduction :
Great Mission Education department is under the Education and Training aims within GMMFI. It’s sole responsibility is to steer the matters of Education and training institutions; formation, running, sustenance and development to prepare the church in fulfilling the undone part of the Great Commission.

Vision
To empower, transform and raise potential ministries in God called individuals.

Mission
Training for a multiplication of ministers for most productivity in God’s kingdom.

Objectives
a) To advise the church on matters if education and running of ‘its institutions.
b) To develop a curriculum to run church institutions e.g. schools and training institutions.
c) To develop curriculum, training manuals and workshop manuals to run church departments e.g. Sunday schools, women, men and youth fellowships.
d) To assist in liaison with the NEC in the appointment of board of governors and mangers of church sponsored institutions and upholding the church’s statement of faith.
e) To oversee the training institutions and be signatories to the certificates awards in conjunction with the General Overseer and with the relevant principals/managers.
f) Assist in liaison with the NEC in the registration process of a Bible college, other tertiary institutions, the sustainability and effective running of the schools.
g) To educate the church on effective use of the social media and planning for empowerment meetings e.g. training seminars, conferences etc.
h) The National Education Board will have a seal in a circular shape reading. Great Mission Ministries & fellowship International and the inscription National education Board across the center.


National Education Board Leadership

The board will consist of:
a) The Patron who is an ex-official and member of the NEC GMMFI
b) Chairman
c) Secretary
d) Treasurer
e) 2 other members
f) Shall be appointed by the NEC for three years renewable
g) The board will meet at least three (3) times a year
h) They are answerable to the NEC.

National Educational Board membership
a) Shall be born again Christian member of GMMFI
b) Should be recommended by their Local Churches/Assemblies
c) Should demonstrate teaching and managerial skills
d) Should be holders of a diploma equivalent and above from an institution recognized by the NEC
e) Should be drawn from different regions
f) Should commit themselves to thus policy and the GMMFI constitution
g) Membership can be withdrawn for the following reasons;
       i. Gross misconduct to be determined by the NEB and the NEC,
       ii. Absenteeism without apology for three continuous meetings
       iii. Insubordination of the leadership
       iv. Three months notice by a member

Duties and Responsibilities of the NEB
a) Develop curriculum for church institutions and departments to enhance empowerment in various vocations within GMMFI
b) Organize departmental empowerment seminars at the national and assembly levels to attain for spiritual and socio-economic development of members.
c) To train ministers and church owners in theological education to empower them to be effective in church administration, mission and sound doctrines.
d) To train ministers with GMMFI and those joining on the church polity (GMMFI polity) and church workers to enable them work within the organizational structure.
e) To partner with accredited institutions and religious organizations which share common faith and vision for the betterment of the body of Christ.
f) To embark on the process of registration of tertiary institutions as required by law in the Education Act (1968 Cap. 211) in liaison with the NEC
g) To be custodians of gifts, donations and assets, movable and immovable on behalf of the NHEC and answerable to them.
h) To maintain sound doctrine as the GMMFI statement of faith.

Office Bearers Duties and Responsibilities
a) Chairperson:
i) Call meetings in liaison with the Patron and Secretary
ii) Chair meetings
iii) Spokesperson; and whoever he/she chooses can report.
 
b) Secretary
i) Write meeting notices in liaison with the chair
ii) Keep records of correspondence and minutes
iii) Organize minutes
c) Treasurer
i) Collect the department’s funds
ii) Keep financial records
iii) Give financial reports in meetings
iv) Make payments on behalf of the department.

Disputes
c) All disputes will be dealt with by the NEB Committee and be referred to the NEC where no amicable solution is not reached.
d) The NEB should encourage a harmonious work relationship to avoid work set back brought by disruptive disputes.

Amendments
This policy guide may be reviewed from time to time to enable the work to be done in a more effective and productive way, through the NEB committee in liaison with the NEC.
