Great Mission Evangelistic Team (GMET)


Introduction
Great Mission Evangelistic Team in the missions department under the Great Mission Ministries and Fellowship International Church organization. Its sole responsibility is to spearhead the Gospel proclamation and church planting in liaison with the other church organs.

Vision
To witness the Gospel of Christ and his redemption for mankind to all nations.

Mission
To preach the Gospel in Kenya and beyond for the purpose of transforming men and women to Christ and serve him in His church.

Objectives
a) To work toward spearheading the mission agenda within the GMMFI
b) To preach the Gospel in evangelical and least evangelized areas, plant churches in Kenya and beyond
c) To collaborate with Local Assemblies in planting churches by raising, empowering and encouraging beliers to participate in fulfilling the Great Mission of our Lord Jesus
d) Provide a platform for willing workers, volunteers, support groups and churches to do the work of evangelism
e) Formulate a diverse methodology in expression of evangelism using social media, crusades, person to person evangelism, home fellowships formation, open air meetings, film outreach, tracks, Bible distribution, visitations etc
f) Embark on initiatives, income generating projects etc that will enable the fulfillment of the said objectives
g) To attain a self supporting status to support full time missionaries & evangelists within GMMFI

GMET MEMBERSHIP
a) Shall be born again Christians and members of GMMFI
b) Should be recommended by their Local Churches/Assemblies
c) Should demonstrate active participation in evangelism
d) Should be in the process of acquiring or have acquired a basic theological training from an institute recommend by the NEC
e) Should be drawn from different regions
f) Should be a willing volunteer and available for meetings and participation in the mission field.
g) Membership can be withdrawn for the following reasons;
i. Gross misconduct to be determined by the GMET and the NEC,
ii. Absenteeism without apology for three continuous meetings
iii. Insubordination of the leadership
iv. Three months notice by a member
GMET COMMITTEE 
a) There shall be a Patron who is an ex-official member of the NEC GMMFI
b) There shall be a Chairman, secretary and Treasurer and two other members
c) They shall be appointed by the NEC for three years renewable
d) They are answerable to the NEC
e) The GMET meetings will be at least 3 annually
Duties and Responsibilities of the GMET Committees
a) To plan for the National/other crusades within the GMMFI
b) Facilitate in the realization of the strategic plan and open doors for ministry initiatives
c) Work in respect and with collaboration with Local churches/Assemblies in evangelism and church planting
d) Clearly initiate and hand over new establishments to the regional Assemblies for fllow up and pastoral care
e) Maintain sound doctrine as per the GMMFI statement of faith
f) Explore new fields for mission initiatives
g) Donations, gifts and liaisons to be receipted to Great Mission Ministries and Fellowship International. Take care of the servicing and keeping of the assets movable and immovable on behalf of GMMFI
h) Answerable to the NEC GMMFI

Office Bearers Duties and Responsibilities
a) Chairperson:
i) Call meetings in liaison with the Patron and Secretary
ii) Chair meetings
iii) Spokesperson; and whoever he/she chooses can report.
 
b) Secretary
i) Write meeting notices in liaison with the chair
ii) Keep records of correspondence and minutes
iii) Organize minutes
c) Treasurer
i) Collect the department’s funds
ii) Keep financial records
iii) Give financial reports in meetings
iv) Make payments on behalf of the department.

Disputes
a) All disputes will be dealt with by the GMET Committee and be referred to the NEC where no amicable solution is not reached.
b) The GMET should encourage a harmonious work relationship to avoid work set back brought by disruptive disputes.

Amendments
This policy guide may be reviewed from time to time to enable the work to be done in a more effective and productive way, through the GMET committee in liaison with the NEC.
