Introduction
The GMWD is the department which concerns itself with women affairs in the Great Mission Ministries, their empowerment, seminars, church based ministries and outreaches among others.
Vision
To transform and women women for Christ’s service
Mission
To attain Godly families and responsible women through biblical values for the body of Christ.
Objectives
a) To reach women with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the word of God
b) To work together with the churches to empower women for Christ locally and beyond our borders
c) To initiate, plan and implement women empowerment seminars, retreats etc
d) To engage in projects to enhance the gospel through pastoral support initiatives, missions, family development projects etc
e) To participate in the work of preaching the gospel through the use of the gifted ministries and to provide fellowship
f) Endeavor to produce healthy families and women upholding the word of God
Leadership
The committee of leadership will consist of:
a) The Patron who is an ex-official member and member of the NEC GMMFI
b) Chairman
c) Secretary
d) Treasurer
e) 2 other members
f) They shall be appointed by the NEC for three years renewable
g) The board will meet at least three (3) times a year
h) They are answerable to the NEC.
Membership
a) Should be born again Christians and members of GMMFI
b) Should be recommended by their Local Assembly
c) Should demonstrate godly character and respectful
d) Should be drawn from different regions
e) They shall commit themselves to follow this policy and the GMMFI Constitution
f) Membership can be withdrawn for the following reasons;
i. Gross misconduct to be determined by the Committee and the NEC,
ii. Absenteeism without apology for three continuous meetings
iii. Insubordination of the leadership
iv. Three months notice by a member
Duties and Responsibilities
a) Work in collaboration with the church Assemblies in planning the National or Regional seminars, camps etc
b) Participate and complement other organs in enhancing the organizational goals in advancing the gospel
c) Identifying gifted women and recommending them for various areas of the work of ministry
d) Account for monies, donations and all assets in the department on behalf of the GMMFI
e) Answerable to the NEC GMMFI
Office Bearers Duties and Responsibilities
a) Chairperson:
i) Call meetings in liaison with the Patron and Secretary
ii) Chair meetings
iii) Spokesperson; and whoever he/she chooses can report.
b) Secretary
i) Write meeting notices in liaison with the chair
ii) Keep records of correspondence and minutes
iii) Organize minutes
c) Treasurer
i) Collect the department’s funds
ii) Keep financial records
iii) Give financial reports in meetings
iv) Make payments on behalf of the department.
Disputes
a) All disputes will be dealt with by the GMWD Committee and be referred to the NEC where no amicable solution is not reached.
b) The GMWD should encourage a harmonious work relationship to avoid work set back brought by disruptive disputes.
Amendments
This policy guide may be reviewed from time to time to enable the work to be done in a more effective and productive way, through the GMWD committee in liaison with the NEC.
