YOUTH DEPARTMENT GMMFI

GREAT MISSION YOUTH DEPARTMENT (GMYD) POLICY

INTRODUCTION
The GMYD is the department that concerns itself with Youth Affairs in the Great Mission Ministries, their empowerment, activities and outreaches among others.

Vision
To empower and transform the youth towards initiatives

Mission
To produce responsible and godly adults through Christian values for the glory of God.
Objectives
a) To reach the youths with the gospel of Jesus Christ through preaching
b) To work in collaboration with the Local Assemblies to transform the youth for Christ both in urban and rural areas
c) To use diverse methodologies for youth outreach i.e. youth camps, seminars, retreats, youth forums, missions assignment etc
d) To explore opportunities to take the gospel in schools, colleges, universities and other learning institutions.
e) Aspire to rehabilitate and transform youths from substance abuse by providing fellowship and godly instruction
f) To identify and enable the youth to release their potential and gift mix in a Christian environment
g) To enable the youth to realize their dreams and be respectful, responsible and productive adults in the society.


Leadership of GMYD
The committee of leadership will consist of:
a) The Patron who is an ex-official member and member of the NEC GMMFI
b) Chairman
c) Secretary
d) Treasurer
e) 2 other members
f) They shall be appointed by the NEC for three years renewable
g) The board will meet at least three (3) times a year
h) They are answerable to the NEC.

Membership
a) Should be born again Christians and members of GMMFI
b) Should receive recommendation from their Local Assemblies
c) Should demonstrate an exemplary Christian values and character
d) Should be drawn from different regions
e) They should commit themselves to this policy guideline and the GMMFI Constitution
f) Should be able to teach others and demonstrate administrative skills
g) Membership can be withdrawn for the following reasons;
i. Gross misconduct to be determined by the Committee and the NEC,
ii. Absenteeism without apology for three continuous meetings
iii. Insubordination of the leadership
iv. Three months notice by a member


Duties and Responsibilities
a) Work in liaison with the Assemblies in planning the National and local youth outreach meetings i.e. camps etc
b) Facilitate in the planning, implementing and accessing affairs within the organization
c) Complement other aims of the organization in propagation of the gospel among the youths across the national and cultural divide
d) Identifying the upcoming youth, their giftedness and recommend for various areas of the work of ministry
e) Account for monies, donations movable and immobile assets on behalf of the GMMFI
f) Answerable to the NEC GMMFI


Office Bearers Duties and Responsibilities
j) Chairperson: i) Call meetings in liaison with the Patron and Secretary
ii) Chair meetings
iii) Spokesperson; and whoever he/she chooses can report.
 
k) Secretary i) Write meeting notices in liaison with the chair
ii) Keep records of correspondence and minutes
iii) Organize minutes
l) Treasurer i) Collect the department’s funds
ii) Keep financial records
iii) Give financial reports in meetings
iv) Make payments on behalf of the department.


Disputes
i) All disputes will be dealt with by the GMYD Committee and be referred to the NEC where no amicable solution is not reached.
j) The GMYD should encourage a harmonious work relationship to avoid work set back brought by disruptive disputes.


Amendments
This policy guide may be reviewed from time to time to enable the work to be done in a more effective and productive way, through the GMYD committee in liaison with the NEC.
